C5 works best on photos shot in bright, direct summer light — full afternoon sun, bright overcast, strong outdoor ambient. In dim or cool light, the vibrancy of C5 can feel like it is fighting the ambient quality rather than amplifying it. For those conditions, C1 or C4 are more appropriate.

White balance: 5,000-5,400K for bright summer daylight.

On phone photos: apply at 80-82% strength. Phone cameras add computational warmth that can combine with C5 to push toward orange — reduce strength slightly and check Orange Saturation after applying.

What is the difference between C5 and C7 Rich Warm? C5 is vibrant with a summery brightness — the color is alive but the tones stay bright and open. C7 Rich Warm has more depth and saturation in the warm range — richer color with more midtone weight. Can I use C5 year-round or just in summer? C5 works whenever the light has summer quality — bright, warm, direct. In northern European winter or in dim or cool conditions, the vibrancy reads less naturally. For year-round versatility, C1 is the better choice.
