Step 1 — Exposure and highlight check before applying. N3's maximum contrast amplifies both qualities and problems. Ensure highlights are not clipping and the starting file is correctly exposed — N3 requires good starting material.

Step 2 — White balance. 5,000-5,400K for outdoor daylight.

Step 3 — Apply N3 Bold Modern. Assess each photo individually — N3 produces more variation between photos than the softer presets.

Portrait photography with N3: reduce to 72-75% strength. N3 is primarily for outdoor lifestyle, fashion, and travel rather than close-up portrait work.

On phone photos: 73-76% strength.
