S-IV is for portrait, product, and lifestyle photographers whose aesthetic is deliberately high-key — where maximum brightness is the intended quality and the clean white character is as important a visual element as the subject.
For photographers who produce content for brands and clients whose visual identity is clean, bright, and minimal — beauty brands, fashion content, lifestyle brands where the brightness of the photography communicates freshness and clarity as brand values.
For photographers who consistently work in bright conditions and want a preset that takes that brightness to its maximum expression — rather than moderating and balancing it as S-I and S-III do.
-
Maximum brightness with controlled highlights. S-IV reaches the highest brightness in the collection while the highlight roll-off calibration keeps detail in bright areas — the result is luminous rather than blown.
It communicates freshness and clarity. High-key photography has specific visual associations that S-IV harnesses deliberately — the brightness is an aesthetic statement, not an exposure error.
It suits minimalist aesthetic photography. White walls, light surfaces, clean minimalist environments — S-IV enhances these at their most luminous and communicates the values of brands and photographers who work in this register.
It is specifically calibrated for high-key work. S-IV is not a preset that accidentally reads bright — every aspect of the calibration is oriented toward maximum clean brightness as the primary quality.

This preset captures the aesthetic of professional "Tungsten" film stocks and the green-biased cinematic looks of 90s thriller cinema. It is the professional answer for those who want their work to feel raw and narrative-driven. By emulating the characteristic "cold-green" shadow shifts and the high mid-tone contrast of industrial analog emulsions—known for their ability to turn ordinary shadows into a gripping, atmospheric experience—S4 ensures your photos feel like a documented film still. It transforms digital files into frames that look like they were shot on a handheld 35mm camera in the heart of a neon-lit metropolis.

Step 1 — White balance first. 5,000-5,400K for outdoor daylight. Clean white balance is essential — warm white balance reduces the clean bright quality and makes the high-key brightness read as warm rather than clean.
Step 2 — Apply S-IV Pure Light. Open any photo in Lightroom. Apply S-IV Pure Light. The high-key brightness and highlight roll-off calibration apply simultaneously.
Step 3 — Fine-tune. Check Exposure — S-IV's maximum brightness means over-exposed starting files can produce results that are too bright. Reduce Exposure -0.1 to -0.2 on bright starting files if needed.
On phone photos: 82-84% strength.

Is S-IV too bright for everyday photography? S-IV is calibrated for deliberately high-key photography where maximum brightness is the aesthetic goal. For balanced clean photography across varied content, S-I produces more natural and versatile results. S-IV is the right choice when brightness itself is part of what you want the photograph to communicate.
Does S-IV work for portrait photography? Yes for high-key portrait photography — bright studio lighting, window light, outdoor sun. The highlight roll-off calibration keeps skin in bright areas detailed and luminous. For natural balanced portrait quality, S-I or S-III are more appropriate.
Does S-IV work in the free version of Lightroom Mobile? Yes. Preset installation and use is completely free in Lightroom Mobile.
